HypnoPsychotherapy (or Hypnotherapy / Psychotherapy):
It is a combination of techniques involving activating the resources of the conscious and the unconscious mind of a person. Working with both the conscious and the unconscious mind enables an acceleration of the problem solving processes.
Hypnotherapy / Psychotherapy uses hypnosis as a powerful tool to assess the potential of unconsciousness as well as a compilation of other techniques based on the three main schools in psychotherapy which are the Psychodynamic approach, the Behaviourists and the Humanists and focusing mainly on the conscious part of the brain.
Hypnosis:
"Hypnosis is an altered state of awareness where the gates to your unconsciousness are open." You are the only person in charge of allowing these doors open or close. Hypnosis contributes to provoke a change due to the fact that it allows you to quickly and easily access your inner potential and activate this inner wealth, knowledge and potential which you may have not realised that it existed.
The Hypnotherapist is a catalyst helping you to find your own inner resources and is there to activate a state which you have already experienced many times before without being aware of it.
To be in a hypnotic state, only three elements are required: focus of attention, monotony and alteration in breathing. Have you ever caught yourself day dreaming? Have you ever driven for long periods of time and not remembered some parts of your journey?
These are hypnotic states. We all go through similar states several times a day without even being aware of it.
Carolina uses the classical hypnosis approach with a touch of an Ericksonian style.
Mnemodynamic Therapy:
Carolina also uses a regression technique called 'Mnemodynamic Therapy': this method, exclusive to CTISHP (Centre Training International School of Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy), has been developed by Sue Washington in the early 80s. This method has been taught and used over the last 3 decades. In this technique the individual is gently brought back to a past situation, by dissassociation, using the individual's current resources in order to break a repeating pattern and solve the problem.
